Steel Matting & Fence Wire Calculator

The price depends on size, wire gauge, and material type. As of October 2026, a standard black iron 4×8 ft, 2×2" mesh steel matting costs (pick-up price):

• 2.6 mm wire: ₱318 per sheet
• 3.0 mm wire (#8): ₱450 per sheet
• 3.5 mm wire: ₱534 per sheet
• 4.5 mm wire (#6): ₱803 per sheet
• 5.5 mm wire: ₱1,122 per sheet
• 6.0 mm wire (¼ inch): ₱1,650 per sheet

For the 6×20 ft sheet, multiply roughly by 3.5× — but the per-sqm cost is lower, making it more economical for large projects. Prices change with the global steel market, so always request a current quote.

Use the calculator above — select "Residential floor slab / topping" and enter your floor area in square meters. The calculator allows for the overlap between sheets (about 150 mm, so a 4×8 ft sheet covers about 2.68 sqm) and adds 10% for cutting waste.

Example: For a 10m × 10m slab (100 sqm), you need approximately 42 sheets of 4×8 ft, or 11 sheets of 6×20 ft.

The 6×20 ft sheet has a lower cost per square meter. Use it for large open pours (warehouses, driveways, roads). The 4×8 ft sheet is easier to handle and more practical for smaller spaces, residential projects, and areas where you need to cut around columns or walls.

Prices vary based on: wire gauge, mesh opening size, sheet size, material type (black iron, galvanized, stainless), and supplier markup. Buying directly from a manufacturer like Una Wire Products eliminates distribution markups — typically 10–20% cheaper than hardware retail.

Black iron is more affordable and standard for concrete reinforcement (protected by the concrete). Galvanized has a zinc coating for superior rust resistance — use it for outdoor fencing, exposed structures, coastal areas, or anywhere moisture is a concern. Galvanized typically costs 20–35% more than black iron.

Cyclone wire comes in 10 m rolls. Take your fence length, deduct the gates, add 5% for corners and overlaps, divide by 10 and round up. For 96 m of fence that is 11 rolls, or ₱23,100 at 4 ft high (₱2,100 per roll). The 5 ft roll is ₱2,600 and the 6 ft roll is ₱3,000. See how to measure your perimeter.

A roll of barbed wire is 140 m and costs ₱2,300. Multiply your fence length by the number of strands, add 5%, divide by 140 and round up. A 3-strand fence of 96 m needs 302 m of wire, which is 3 rolls (₱6,900).
