This tool helps you quickly estimate how many sheets of steel matting you need for your project and gives you a rough budget range based on current market prices.

Here's how it works:

  1. Pick your purpose — whether you're reinforcing a concrete slab, building a fence, or something else.
  2. Enter your dimensions — for slabs, enter the total area in square meters. For fencing, enter the total fence length and height.
  3. See your estimate — sheet count for both 4×8 ft and 6×20 ft sheets, plus a rough budget range based on May 2026 market prices.

The estimate is a rough guide only. For an exact price, click "Request a Free Quotation" and we'll get back to you within 1 business day.

Common Questions

About Steel Matting Prices in the Philippines

How much does one sheet of steel matting cost?

The price depends on size, wire gauge, and material type. As of May 2026, a standard black iron 4×8 ft, 2×2" mesh steel matting costs approximately:

  • 2.6 mm wire: ₱315 – ₱365 per sheet
  • 3.2 mm wire: ₱525 – ₱600 per sheet
  • 4.0 mm wire: ₱790 – ₱900 per sheet
  • 5.5 mm wire: ₱1,105 – ₱1,250 per sheet

For the 6×20 ft sheet, multiply roughly by 3.75× — but the per-sqm cost is lower, making it more economical for large projects. Prices change with the global steel market, so always request a current quote.

How many sheets of steel matting do I need for my floor?

Use the calculator above — select "Residential floor slab / topping" and enter your floor area in square meters. The calculator adds a 15% allowance for overlaps and cutting waste, which is standard practice in the Philippines.

Example: For a 10m × 10m slab (100 sqm), you need approximately 39 sheets of 4×8 ft, or 10 sheets of 6×20 ft.

Which is cheaper — the 4×8 ft or 6×20 ft sheet?

The 6×20 ft sheet has a lower cost per square meter. Use it for large open pours (warehouses, driveways, roads). The 4×8 ft sheet is easier to handle and more practical for smaller spaces, residential projects, and areas where you need to cut around columns or walls.

Why do steel matting prices vary between suppliers?

Prices vary based on: wire gauge, mesh opening size, sheet size, material type (black iron, galvanized, stainless), and supplier markup. Buying directly from a manufacturer like Una Wire Products eliminates distribution markups — typically 10–20% cheaper than hardware retail.

What is the difference between black iron and galvanized steel matting?

Black iron is more affordable and standard for concrete reinforcement (protected by the concrete). Galvanized has a zinc coating for superior rust resistance — use it for outdoor fencing, exposed structures, coastal areas, or anywhere moisture is a concern. Galvanized typically costs 20–35% more than black iron.
